7 am - 9 am.  Portfolio Cafe, 15 Westminster Street.

Audience: All Summer Orientation students

Welcome and Overview

9 am - 11:15 am.  Materials Resource Room 204,  Fleet Library  at 15 Westminster Street.

Welcome and overview of Student Affairs, Dining, Living on Campus, Public Safety, and Title IX, Liberal Arts, Foundation Studies, and MDES/INTAR programs.  

Audience: All Summer Orientation students.

Taking Care of Business 

11:15 pm - 12 pm.  RISD campus

Utilize this time to take care of business on campus, last minute paperwork, etc. (Please note that some offices may close at 1 pm on Fridays, and many will be represented at the Info Fair at 12). 

Audience: All students, as needed. 

Lunch and Info Fair

12 pm - 2 pm.  The Met, Met Patio. 

Enjoy lunch and check out all your resources on campus. 

Audience: All Summer Orientation students. 

Individual Advising available  

12 pm - 2 pm. The Met Patio. 

Do you have questions about your transfer credits? Visit Gail from Liberal Arts at the info fair!  

Audience: Transfer students, optional. 

Student Panel and Q&A for Foundation Studies

2 pm - 3 pm. Met Room A, Upper Met. 

Talk candidly with students who have completed the summer foundation studies program and get your questions answered. 

Audience: Transfer and  M.Arch students. 

Student Panel and Q&A for MDes students  

2 pm - 3 pm. Met Room C, Upper Met. 

Chat with fellow MDES graduate students to find out more information about your upcoming program.  

Audience: MDes students. 


3 pm - 4 pm.  Around campus and Providence. Meet at 15 West Lobby. 

Join your OLs for an optional fun adventure! 

Audience: All students, optional. 

Free time

4 pm - 6 pm. 

Dinner available

5 pm-  7 pm. The Met. 

Dinner on the Town 

5 pm - 7 pm. 

Join your OLs and RAs for dinner on the town! Check out some of their favorite places and enjoy local cuisine! Meet up at 15 West lobby. (You will need to bring money to pay for dinner)  

Audience: transfers, optional. 

Grad Student Social

6 pm.  Fat Belly's, 125 Canal Street, second floor. 

New graduate students are invited to talk, eat and drink together with faculty and staff to start building your grad student network at RISD. (light dinner provided, please RSVP prior) 

Audience: M. Arch and MDes students
